Christmas is very nearly upon us! 
The clamour and excitement leading up to Christmas helps make the day itself special. But Christmas is particularly special because it is that one time in the year when we celebrate and share in the company of loved ones and friends. However, for many who are alone and isolated, Christmas time can be a an especially lonely indeed. 
At Friends Ireland, we hear daily of the loneliness this time brings for many people. So we ask you to spare a thought for those are vulnerable and isolated this Christmas. There is no greater gift we can give than the gift of presence. Keep those who are alone in your community and reach out this Christmas. A simple visit may enrich someone’s life beyond measure.
Visit someone who may not otherwise see many friendly faces or make a phone call – you really can’t put a price on what this could mean to the lonely or vulnerable person at this time of year.
